This 2-bit non-inverting bus transceiver uses two independent configurable power rails. The A port is designed to track VCCA. VCCA accepts any supply voltage from 1.65V to 5.5V. The B port is designed to track VCCB. VCCB accepts any supply voltage value from 1.65 to 5.5V. This allows universal low-voltage bidirectional translation between 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V voltage nodes. The SN74LVC2T45 is designed to enable asynchronous communication between two data buses. The logic level of the direction control (DIR) input activates either the B port or the A port output. When the B port output is activated, the device sends data from the A bus to the B bus, and when the A port output is activated, the device sends data from the B bus to the A bus. The input circuits on the A and B ports are always active and must have a logic high or low applied to prevent excessive ICC and ICCZ. The SN74LVC2T45 is designed to power the DIR input circuitry from VCCA. The device is fully specified for partial power-off applications using Ioff. The Ioff circuitry disables the output, preventing destructive current from flowing back through the device when it is powered off.
