The TPD3S713x-Q1 is a single-chip solution that provides short-to-battery, short-circuit, and ESD protection for high-speed data and power lines in automotive USB hubs, audio head units, telematics, and media interface applications.The integrated data switch provides best-in-class bandwidth to minimize signal degradation in the event of a USB short to battery.Bandwidth of up to 1.2GHz leverages the long tether cables common in automotive USB environments to achieve a clean USB 2.0 high speed 480Mbps eye graph.The short-to-battery protection isolates the internal system circuitry from any overvoltage condition on the VBUS, DP _ IN, and DM _ IN pins.On these pins, the TPD3S713x-Q1 handles overvoltages up to 18 V for hot-swap and DC events, and turns off an internal switch that protects the upstream transceiver from harmful voltage and current spikes.The VBUS pin also provides a flexible, adjustable, current-limiting load switch (from 50 mA to 600 mA), saving the system power budget if the port only requires tens of milliamps of current.
